Queen's Award formally presented to MASS

A Cambridgeshire-based defence technology company has been formally presented with the Queen’s Award for International Trade – the UK’s highest accolade for business success, at a ceremony at its St. Neots head office.

It is the first time that MASS, part of Cohort plc, has won a Queen’s Award.

MASS received the award for its innovative approach to Electronic Warfare Operational Support, cyber security and secure ICT networks and in recognition of work conducted with overseas customers, as well as the UK Ministry of Defence and other Government departments.

Her Majesty’s representative, the Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, Sir Hugh Duberly KCVO, CBE, presented MASS Managing Director Ashley Lane with an engraved cut glass bowl as well as the official scroll. Before the presentation, Sir Hugh and Councillor Sebastian Kindersley, Chairman of Cambridgeshire County Council were given a tour of the company’s facilities in St Neots including its Cyber Security Operations Centre.

The Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire commented on the award:

“As the Queen’s Representative within Cambridgeshire I am delighted to be here to present this prestigious Award to MASS for the excellent work that they have done for International Trade.” Managing Director Ashley Lane added: “Our export business is an important part of our portfolio, and we are optimistic that this will continue to grow despite the current uncertainties over the EU. We were honoured to receive this award, the most prestigious for businesses in the UK.”
