Cohort, the independent technology company, confirms recent RNS announcements of contract wins, collectively worth more than £7M, from two of its subsidiary businesses, SEA and EID.

SEA has been awarded Network Rail contracts worth in excess of £3M to supply and install its Metro Red Light enforcement system at level crossings in selected locations.

Metro Red Light has been developed by SEA, experts in civil and criminal traffic enforcement systems, to support Network Rail's drive to improve safety at level crossings. The system uses video analytics to detect and capture evidential images and video of any vehicle which crosses a level crossing while the red lights are activated.

The system has been proven at a number of sites where it has successfully reduced offending. EID has been awarded a contract worth €4.8m to provide communication equipment for the Portuguese Army.

Under the terms of the contract, EID, who have extensive expertise in tactical military communications, will supply communication equipment for 139 VAMTEC 4x4 Light Armoured Tactical Vehicles over the next two years.

The contract follows an International Competitive Tender issued by the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) on behalf of the Portuguese Ministry of Defence. The competition was won by the Spanish vehicle manufacturer URO Vehiculos Especiales S.A., with EID as subcontractor. Andy Thomis, Chief Executive of Cohort said:

“These wins for SEA and EID represent experience and records of success being recognised in their respective fields. Together with other recent wins, these contract awards enhance the visibility of future Group revenue.”
