Cohort Group highlights advanced defence technology at Combined Naval Event

Cohort plc, the independent defence technology group, is showcasing the latest innovations from its agile and responsive businesses at the Combined Naval Event (CNE), 20 – 22 May 2025.
Located on stand B32, four of the Group’s subsidiaries - Chess Dynamics, EID, ELAC SONAR and SEA - will be demonstrating solutions to meet emerging naval defence challenges.
At the event, Chess Dynamics will be exhibiting its naval fire control systems, SeaEagle FCEO-D (Fire Control Optical Digital) and SeaEagle FCRO (Fire Control Radar Optical). SeaEagle FCEO-D is Chess’ next generation, fully digital, high-resolution precision Fire Control Electro-Optical tracking director. Visitors will also be able to learn more about SeaEagle FCRO, the all-weather stabilised radar and electro-optical fire control system for naval guns against air, surface and shore threats. On the stand will be models of the cutting-edge capabilities along with Chess’ experts who will be able to share how the SeaEagle solutions are designed to address the threat of small, fast, incoming targets and provide precision targeting for naval guns.
EID will be highlighting their new positioning as an integrator partner, capable of delivering turn-key solutions to end users, highlights their expertise in providing and implementing complete shipboard networks. The new shipborne C4i solution – encompassing Communications, Control, Command, Computers, and Intelligence – with multilevel security, have been designed and developed for deployment in the latest multi-purpose vessel (MPV) for the Portuguese Navy. The EID team invites visitors to the stand to discover how OCEANEX offers a cost-effective and innovative shipborne C4i solution, , designed to meet the most demanding security and technology requirements.
ELAC SONAR will also be at the conference, demonstrating how its Sphere® Passive Surveillance Suite and HUNTER 2.0 can offer navies protection against the latest threats below the surface. Sphere® provides a holistic solution for surveillance, mine and collision avoidance, underwater communication and measurement, while HUNTER 2.0 is a hull mounted sonar offering active and passive ASW in shallow and deep waters for panoramic detection of submarines and other objects.
Showcasing Ship and Fleet protection systems, SEA will be exhibiting Ancilia, their trainable countermeasures system, and showcasing the latest developments in their partnership with the Terma Group. In the Future Surface Fleet conference theatre, SEA experts will present how Ancilia delivers effective and rapid protection against modern dynamic threats, such as hypersonic and ballistic missiles, and its ability to be fitted to a wide range of maritime platforms. This will include the latest on the Electronic Warfare Countermeasures Increment 1A contract from the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) for Ancilia to enhance Royal Navy’s surface ship defensive capabilities.
SEA will also be exhibiting KraitSense, a flexible, scalable, modular and small footprint sonar solution that includes the industry-renowned towed array sonar, KraitArray, which bolsters ASW capability for non-specialist platforms such as OPVs and a range of uncrewed vessels. SEA has long-standing partnerships with many international navies, underpinned by their ability to provide technical solutions and through-life support for new and legacy equipment.
