COHORT PLC
MASS SIGNS £13m, SEVEN-YEAR BUILDING SCHOOLS FOR THE FUTURE (BSF) CONTRACT
Cohort plc, the independent technology group, announces that its wholly-owned
subsidiary, MASS Consultants Limited, has signed a contract as Information and
Communication Technologies (ICT) partner to provide new and refurbished schools
for North Lincolnshire Council under the government's BSF programme. The signing
follows the announcement on 7 April 2009 that MASS had been selected as the
preferred bidder subject to contractual negotiations.
MASS will provide and integrate a range of ICT equipment, networks and software
for seven schools, and a managed service for its support and maintenance. MASS
already provides this type of service to a range of government and private
sector clients. The contract value for MASS will exceed £13m over 7 years.
MASS has formed a partnership with May Gurney Integrated Services plc and NPS
Property Consultants Ltd for the North Lincolnshire BSF programme, to be known
as the North Lincolnshire Learning Partnership (PSP), which will initially cover
a number of new build and refurbishment projects for secondary schools in the
Scunthorpe area.
Andrew Thomis, Chief Executive said: "This is a prestigious contract and one
which plays to our market-leading capabilities in the development, provision and
integration of secure ICT infrastructures. We look forward to developing further
business in this new market for the company."
